SUCCESS, HARD WORK, PERSISTANCE, SELF-LOVE. Words blare in the side of my head like billboards on the side of the road. I drive past it. Craning my neck watching the words go by.
It’s hard to follow your own advice. I sit here slumped over a chair like a wet towel. Trying to write but feeling like I have nothing worth reading. It’s a shame to call it writer’s block because to do so would have you believe that I am a writer. I guess I am writing.
Turn up. Every day turn up. Every moment turn up. Turn up and the rest will follow. Extra points if you turn up with a good attitude.
Kind words are hard to accept. They are like lessons from a gentle driving instructor. The voice is calm, but you are too panicked behind the wheel to accept the words.
So here I am pitter-pattering on a modern typewriter. Words failing me not falling any lighter. Follow your advice turn up, chin up higher.
